FISHING IN THE PONDS

Good catch Charles!!!!

As I was walking along the pond by Round Lake Road, I was posting a sign. While I was out and, about, a homeowner was fishing, then that homeowner, Charles Karr, caught a nice fish!  So homeowners of VGC Central, you are welcome to fish in our two ponds; but please do not swim, ice skate, or go boating in the ponds. In the next week or so, signs will be going up around the ponds stating these guidelines.  So enjoy your ponds when weather permits.

SOLICITATION

On Saturday, May 13, there was a pest control solicitor knocking on doors in our neighborhood. This man from that pest control company knocked on one of our homeowners door that day. The homeowner told him he was not interested, and told him that he is supposed to have a permit to solicit in here and the pest control guy replied that he doesn't care. The homeowner then called the police, in which the police tracked him down and gave him a ticket and told him to leave. But for the the next week other people from that pest control company came back, starting to knock on doors again in here and other neighborhoods. So, if one comes knocking on your door, please follow these steps.
Here in Villages at Grassy Creek Central, we have a "No Solicitation" neighborhood. I spoke with the City of Greenwood about this matter.  They said that yes we are a no solicitation neighborhood, but they can knock on doors if they get a permit from the city. When they do come around, you are to ask them to present their permit.  I assure you most do not have one.  If they do not have a permit, the city said to call the non-emergency police right away and the police will come and escort them off the property.  The phone number you would call is: 317.346.6336.
We as home owners have to start asking for their permit to help curb the solicitation in our neighborhood. Thanks in advance for your help in this matter.

CRIME AND SAFETY

There have been several vehicles running stop signs, speeding, and driving recklessly. I'm very concerned that this could cause an accident or even someone being hurt!!  If you see any suspicious activity or someone driving recklessly, try and get their plate number and call the non-emergency line right away at 317.346.6336.

On behalf of the Board, I will do all I can to try to prevent any of these problems happening here in our neighborhood.  I contacted the Greenwood Police Department  last fall, to address these matters of concern. They sent an officer in the neighborhood to patrol for 45 minutes.  During that time, the officer gave five warnings, and one speeding ticket.  The police department has a report on file for this problem, and have patrolled the neighborhood on a regular basis throughout this past winter.  I will be in contact with them soon to patrol a little heavier this summer, due to the increase of children playing outside more.

Please do not hesitate to contact us with any concerns you may have; we will try to address them in a timely manner. Again, please call the police right away if you see any suspicious activity in the area!!
